Description:

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

  1. Review and understand all relevant policies and procedures in order to be able to carry out daily work tasks as expected.
  2. Design, implement, and manage comprehensive international mobility policies, procedures, and frameworks in alignment with university regulations and international best practices.
  3. Ensure compliance with relevant national and international regulations and guidelines pertaining to student and faculty mobility.
  4. Oversee the end-to-end processes for inbound and outbound student and faculty mobility programs, including pre-departure orientation and support, visa and immigration guidance, accommodation and travel arrangements, on-site support and emergency assistance, post-arrival support and re-entry guidance, and program evaluations and data analysis.
  5. Manage and administer academic and non-academic joint/dual degree programs with partner institutions.
  6. Coordinate and facilitate student exchange programs, including Erasmus+ and other international mobility initiatives.
  7. Provide comprehensive and personalized advice and guidance to students and faculty members on all aspects of international mobility, including program selection and application procedures, academic and cultural adjustments, funding opportunities and scholarships, health and safety considerations, and visa and immigration requirements.
  8. Assist faculty members in developing and participating in international research collaborations and exchange programs.
  9. Build and maintain strong relationships with partner universities, host institutions, and relevant external organizations.
  10. Organize and attend international meetings, conferences, and workshops related to international education and mobility.
  11. Represent the University of Sharjah at international education events and conferences.
  12. Collaborate with academic departments, student support services, and other relevant units within the university to ensure smooth and successful international mobility experiences.
  13. Develop and disseminate information about international mobility opportunities through various channels, including the university website, newsletters, student portals, and information sessions.
  14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all international mobility activities.
  15. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to international mobility programs.
  16. Assist in preparing reports and presentations on international mobility activities for internal and external stakeholders when requested.
  17. Complete any other job-related tasks as assigned by the line manager within the expected time limit.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional/technical documents, in both Arabic and English.
  • Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications with an emphasis on MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • A good understanding of international education trends and best practices.
  • A good understating of digital marketing trends and strategies.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Proven experience in program management, student support, and international collaboration.
  • Proven experience with student information systems and other relevant software will add an advantage.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Education, International Relations, or a relevant discipline.
  • 2-4 years of UAE experience in a similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
  • Priority is to UAE Nationals.

Responsibilities:

As the International Mobility Officer and a member of the Office of International Relations team, you are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the University of Sharjah’s international strategy by planning, initiating, managing, and executing successful international mobility programs for students and faculty members. This position supports the activities of the Office of International Relations in facilitating seamless and enriching international mobility experiences.
