Description:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Master’s degree in a research-based program.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of related experience.
- 3 years of management experience in an academic research environment.
- Experience in international academic partnerships, grant writing, and grant program policy experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of key international research opportunities, grants, partnerships.
- Knowledge of trends in academic research in a global context.
SKILLS:
- Proficient communication in one of the following languages: French, Mandarin, Arabic, Hindi or Spanish.
- Effective research grant development skills with ability to understand and synthesize data from multiple sources. Able to compile and present results.

Responsibilities:
The International Research Engagement, Partnerships and Grant Support Manager reports to the Vice-President Research & Innovation (VPRI) and receives functional direction from the Assistant Vice-President Global Engagement & Partnerships. This role is responsible for enhancing the number and quality of international research partnerships, leading the development of external research proposals from international sources, and providing guidance and support for applying to international grant opportunities to York researchers.This role will provide strategic support for the management of international partnerships. The role will keep the VPRI informed of important developments and opportunities as they relate to international research activities, assist in increasing York’s research revenue from international sources, and provide strategic recommendations for enhancing York’s visibility internationally. This role will work closely with York International and the VPRI Division in fulfilling the key responsibilities outlined below.
