Description:

Applications are invited for the position of International Student Accounts Associate in the International Division, located at the Welland Campus. The starting hourly rate is $28.78/hr (Pay Band E - $28.78/hr to $33.37/hr) for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary. This is an Appendix D, temporary position as per Article 17.3.1 of the Support Staff Collective Agreement and is set to commence in November 2024 and will conclude in May 2026. It may be subject to an extension by mutual agreement of the parties.
Reporting to the Manager, International Student Accounts, the successful candidate will work within the International Finance Team to respond to a high volume of inquiries by international students, guardians, agencies, college staff, and other partners, through written correspondence via email, phone and in person visits to ensure students queries are answered in a timely manner. The associate also assists in the generation and facilitation of outbound communications as part of finance departments communication strategies. The incumbent works closely with all international department staff, most specifically the International Finance team to plan for upcoming peak inquiry periods and response to ad hoc changes and messaging. The associate works to triage and investigate inquiries in several email inboxes, through phone, or in person and create a bank of appropriate response templates in conjunction with the Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two (2) year diploma or equivalent in Business, International Business, International Relations, Office Administration, Communications, Hospitality, Accounting, or similar field of study
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working in a high-volume office or call centre environment

Responsibilities:

  • Triage, sort, and reply to shared email inboxes to further handling by international finance team members
  • Respond to phone calls and in-person inquiries
  • Provides information to potential international students and their Agents related to all financial inquires, including invoices, scholarships, payment plan inquiries, payment deadlines, payment options, etc.
  • Supports new & current students through payment applications and other finance related issues
  • Investigates students’ tuition payments and timelines and informs students
  • Identifies and troubleshoots technical issues with payments through multiple sources (e.g. CIBC portal)
  • Assist with posting payments to student accounts
  • Assist with fee quotes
  • Assist with agent commissions inquiries and payment cycle as needed
  • Assist with notifying students of payment plan due dates, amounts and reminders
  • Assist with queries and data sorting for various team needs
  • Act as first tier of support for all international student finance matters and questions
  • Offering finance presentation sessions and updating presentations for student recruitment events
  • Assist with content creation (social media or marketing material) for student finance related inquires to support students
  • Providing in-person coverage for staffing of International Office when needed
