Description:

WE ARE LOOKING TO RECRUIT AN ASSISTANT MANAGER FOR OUR CORPORATE INTERNATIONAL TAX TEAM.

We are flexible on location within the UK, with a preference for someone who is close to one of our hub offices (Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen). Wherever based, you will be expected to attend quarterly in-person team meetings in one of those offices, and you will report to the Head of International Tax, Amanda Collinson, who is based in Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Corporate International Tax team is growing and we are looking for a new team member to support all international tax and transfer pricing advisory projects. This is a great opportunity for a proactive Assistant Manager who is looking for more client contact, autonomy and responsibility for advisory projects. We are a small team, so we are looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and get involved in all aspects of the work. The role will report directly to the Head of International Tax and will also support the Transfer Pricing Manager.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Undertake technical research and prepare first draft reports on international tax advisory matters, such as corporate residency and permanent establishment risks
  • Review international tax aspects of corporate tax computations, e.g. CFC disclosures or double tax relief claims
  • Support on transfer pricing projects, for example by attending functional interviews and writing up the notes and using benchmarking software to perform benchmarks for client reports
  • Keep up to date with developments in International Tax and share updates with the wider team
  • Stay up to date with the rollout of the Pillar Two global minimum tax rules and work on advising our clients in respect of these, from a compliance perspective as well as reviewing from an audit of tax side
  • Support the Head of International tax with Business Development, which may include researching companies and identifying potential opportunities to support them, through to joining BD meetings and events
  • Assist with training sessions for the wider Corporate Tax and Business Advisory teams on specific areas of International Tax, such as withholding taxes
  • Collaborate with other teams across the firm
  • Build a network of international connections across other member firms in the Moore Global Network
