Description:

We are Covestro. We are curious. We are courageous. We are colorful. We refine chemical material solutions with game-changing products. Let us empower you to push boundaries. Join us and our 18.000 colleagues now and together we will make the world a brighter place.
Our CTO function ensures smooth and safe operations at our international production sites. It is also responsible for planning, further developing our production facilities, and developing new processes.
The Advanced Process Control team supports production plants worldwide with control concepts developed and programmed in collaboration with production operations. To support the design, we create dynamic models of production plants. The models are linked with emulated control systems to create training simulators, allowing plant operators to train while production plants are still under construction. In the context of digitalization, we create digital twins of our plants, perform data analyses to optimize our production facilities, and are part of the digitalization initiative.

What We Offer

  • We provide insights into the exciting world of dynamic process simulation for chemical plants. You will support us in simulating and connecting to our process control systems.
  • Demonstrate your control engineering skills and creativity in optimizing processes through simulation, and we will implement the optimization in the real process.
  • Sometimes real treasures are hidden in our data - help us save even more energy through process data analysis.
  • You will evaluate and interpret collected data and write test reports. You will gain insights into industrial research and development processes and work in a multidisciplinary team (m/f/d).

What You Bring

  • You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computational Engineering Science, or a comparable field of study.
  • You have successfully completed relevant basic lectures such as Control Engineering and Process Engineering.
  • Preferably, you already have some experience and expertise in process simulation or data analysis (Python, Matlab).
  • For your assignment at Covestro, you bring a high willingness to learn, a quick comprehension, enjoyment of working in a team, motivation, and independence.

The internship position is ideally to be filled from October 2024 or later. The duration is between three to six months (our preference).
Please submit your resume, cover letter, relevant transcripts, and enrollment certificate with your application.
