Description:
Are you enthusiastic about the latest technologies to handle very high data rates needed for future wireless technologies? You want to learn and implement use cases for GPUs beyond computer games? Then this internship is for you!
RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) and GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) are pivotal in advancing high-performance computing for several reasons like speed, efficiency, high throughput and scalability. This technology can also be demonstrated for wireless communications systems including software defined radios (SDR) to push the boundaries for future wireless standards such as 6G.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
- You have some experience in network protocol stacks and tools (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, DPDK, iperf, tcpdump, …)
- You have played around with GPU programming frameworks such as GPUDirect, CUDA, OpenGL, Vulkan…You have created or contributed to software projects, ideally with some hardware integration (e.g. GPU, Network card (NIC), Raspberry Pi, Arduino…)
Responsibilities:
- You will drive research, build up knowledge around new technologies, and present to the team:
- Research on the principles of RDMA and GPU technologies and their nuances
- Explore how RDMA can help exchange data faster between SDR and GPUs
- Implement prototypes for RDMA and/or GPU based workflowsCollaborate with developers and present your results to the team
Who You Are: You are passionate about technology and data processing and like to learn and work with the latest software defined radio techniques and equipment. You take time to ask questions and define the problem and make learning a priority. You prepare content for communication that is impactful and get in touch with mentors with questions to help drive progress and completion of goals and tasks.
For this Role, You Will Need :
- Academic studies in Computer Science, Information System Technology, Electrical Engineering or comparable field of studies (from 4th semester)
- Courage to independently research a complex topic
- Interest in high performance computing and enthusiasm about the latest technologies
- Interest in programming hardware components such as network cards, CPU and GPUs
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems
- Basic knowledge in C/C++ and Python
