LOCATION/DIVISION SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The Thermo Fisher Scientific Swedesboro site is part of the PSG-CTD Division. It is a multi-client biopharmaceutical site supporting Clinical Ancillary Management (CAM). We provide our clients with storage and order fulfillment of commercial and commercial-free pharmaceutical products with the capabilities to support and store products that require cold chain and ambient processing.
Discover Impactful Work:
An Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory accuracy and efficiency within a company’s supply chain. This role involves implementing inventory control measures, conducting audits, analyzing inventory data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory management.

A day in the Life:

  • Oversee and monitor inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and minimizing discrepancies. This includes conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling inventory records
  • Implement and enforce inventory control measures and best practices to ensure accurate inventory tracking and minimize loss or shrinkage. This may involve establishing inventory control policies, and conducting regular audits.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies. Apply data analysis tools or software to track key performance indicators (important metrics) such as inventory turnover, stock accuracy, and order fulfillment rates.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as sales, operations, and logistics, to ensure effective inventory management across the supply chain. Collaborate on demand forecasting, new product launches, and inventory allocation for different sales channels or regions.

Keys to Success:

EDUCATION

  • Associate’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience is preferred or a total of 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Solid understanding of inventory management principles

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Walk and stand up to six hours at a time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime
