Description:

SUMMARY:

DMC is currently looking for an Inventory Coordinator to join our team in Sudbury. The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s inventory processes to ensure accurate stock levels, efficient distribution, and timely replenishment. The role involves monitoring inventory records, conducting stock audits, coordinating with procurement, and ensuring that inventory is stored and handled according to company standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with inventory management systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).

Experience:

  • Proven experience in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain roles (1-3 years preferred).
  • Experience using inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or other ERP systems).

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies and issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control such as JDE/D365.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Working Environment:

  • Full-time position with regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items, typically up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse/shop environment, which may include varying temperatures and noise levels.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels for production or sales.
  • Monitor stock movements and update inventory levels in the system in real-time.
  • Coordinate stock replenishment and manage stock-outs and overstock situations.
  • Perform regular stock counts (e.g., cycle counts, full physical inventory) and reconcile discrepancies.

Supply Chain Coordination:

  • Work closely with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of supply chain issues, including delays or quality issues with vendors.

Data Entry & Reporting:

  • Update and maintain inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS) with accurate data.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management, highlighting trends and variances.
  • Track and report key inventory metrics such as stock turnover, lead times, and order fulfillment rates.

Order Processing & Distribution:

  • Coordinate the preparation and dispatch of orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Communicate with shipping teams and track inventory shipments to ensure timely arrival.
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and handling of inventory items during distribution.

Warehouse & Stock Organization:

  • Ensure the warehouse is organized and inventory is properly stored, labeled, and easily accessible.
  • Implement best practices for stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO) to minimize waste or damage.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and inventory handling protocols.

Vendor & Supplier Communication:

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding stock availability, order status, and delivery schedules.
  • Assist with vendor relationship management, ensuring that orders are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Process Improvement:

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory records, including missing or damaged items.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address inventory-related issues or inefficiencies.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Liaise with other departments, such as procurement, Maintenance, Electrical and Operations to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
  • Provide regular reports on warehouse performance and operational status to management.
