The Opportunity
Cochlear have an exciting position for an Inventory Manager, APAC based in our global headquarters in Macquarie University on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be accountable for developing and implementing inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize costs, and meet customer demand, whilst ensuring the business maintains a high level of customer service. The role will collaborate cross-functionally to align inventory goals with business objectives, monitor inventory performance metrics, and implement control measures to prevent stockouts and reduce scrap.

Your key responsibilities will be…

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, marketing , and finance, to align inventory goals with overall business objectives and expected customer service levels.
  • Monitor inventory turnover rates, stock levels, and aging inventory to identify opportunities for improvement and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts, excess inventory, and reducing scrap of expired inventory.
  • Generate reports and provide analysis on inventory performance metrics, such as fill rates, stockouts, and inventory turnover.
  • Facilitate and lead inventory review meetings with the aim to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory management processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and support to staff members on inventory-related processes and procedures as needed.

About you

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics (or equivalent)
  • Experience in inventory management or related roles, with a proven track record of success in driving improvements and achieving results.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of inventory management best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with a ERP system

Desired Skills

  • Track record of influencing leadership responsibilities with in-depth experience of managing inventory levels to both expected financial and service goals, working with internal Supply Chain and development and implementation of supplier performance metrics.
  • Experience working within a regulated industry
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market trends and make data-driven decisions.
