QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience in operations and inventory management is preferred
- Outstanding data analysis and working knowledge of common inventory management software
- Proven experience and knowledge with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) software, such as SAP, Oracle and/or other related ERP systems
- Demonstrated financial acumen particularly around inventory and operations
- Strong problem solving, analytical skills and experience with databases, query/reporting tools, ability to manipulate large data sets, analyze data, and create reports. Experience with Rapid Response and/or similar reporting tools is a plus
- High-level of organization skills with an attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities needed to meet deadlines
- Exposure and experience within a lean manufacturing environment is a plus
The Bay Area salary wage for this role is $115k-$140k + pre-IPO stock options + benefits. This position is on-site in Menlo Park, CA. The salary will be adjusted based on the experience of the employee.

Responsibilities:
As the Inventory Manager at Mainspring Energy you will manage global inventory for the company. This includes inventory accuracy, turns improvement and continual reduction of Excess & Obsolete (E&O). You will develop and implement materials planning strategies to achieve target materials levels, customer service levels and working capital objectives. In this role you will help us develop policies and procedures to ensure proper oversight between Mainspring, as well as external contract manufacturing and sub-tier supplier partners. In addition, you will protect Mainspring’s assets and evaluate potential risks using financial and other reporting analytics. Regular cross functional collaboration with other departments, including Supply Chain, Sourcing, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support Teams to achieve company objectives. Some of the role responsibilities include:
- Support and implement materials planning strategies to align finished goods availability and working capital objectives with monthly SIOP expectations
- Analyze and update MRP planning parameters to ensure inventory optimization; the right products at the right locations at the right time, including dock policies, lead-time off-sets, and pull-in/push-out messaging
- Review and improve transactions/processes of various stakeholders, including but not limited to production, R&D, supply chain, project delivery, and O&M, to improve inventory/service levels and accuracy
- Monitor the daily warehouse activities and ensure that process and quality standards are met
- Develop or enhance processes to track in-transit inventory
- Ensure inventory control, including processes for cycle-counting, analyzing and handling adjustments as well as improving overall production material flow
- Develop policies and processes to minimize/improve slow-moving, excess and obsolete materials and ensure O&M service levels are met
- Provide periodic updates on overall improvements/plans relating to Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to leadership, managers and stakeholders
- Drive systems and process improvements in inventory accuracy through increased use and scope of cycle counting needed to eliminate/reduce the scope and business impact of our need of Annual Physical Inventory (API)
