Description:

SUMMARY

As the Inventory Specialist, you will partner across the entire organization to ensure that inventory is accurately counted, categorized, organized, staged, and available for use according to plans. You will be responsible for developing and monitoring processes and systems to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure that component movement throughout the brewery is synchronized and recorded. Alignment of the ERP system and physical movements is a key deliverable, along with waste efficiency and quality. You will excel in this role if you have keen attention to detail, thrive in dynamic, sometimes unstructured environments, and are willing to roll up your sleeves to support all aspects of the business.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position will require time shared between an office and Warehouse/Manufacturing plant environment. Working conditions may include loud noises, extreme temperatures, enclosed spaces.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hair nets, ear plugs and steel toe boots (as required by company policy).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage inventory movement and storage requirements to meet production planning demands.
  • Execute and control cycle counting schema to ensure minimal waste of materials and low variances.
  • Ensure the physical movement of materials for packaging, including staging, picking, and put-away.
  • Ensure accurate bin movement and labeling within the inventory system.
  • Coordinate with brewing and packaging leaders to monitor plans for necessary adjustments to yield, material quality, or equipment issues. Rotate and consume goods according to FIFO best practices.
  • Manage the obsolescence and disposal of inventory in tight coordination with and approval of the controller.
  • Ensure finished goods are accurately accounted for each day.
  • Work with the Brewmaster and other leaders on the appropriate warehousing and handling of chemicals and other agents or ingredients that require safety precautions in storage, use, and disposal.
  • Ensure effective records accuracy through invoice and other documentation review (e.g., reconcile ordered and received variances) to support accurate financial month-end closes.
  • Coordinate daily Work Order component requirements and distribution/restock in coordination with supply chain and production teams.
  • Proactively and clearly communicate with contract partners to ensure their reporting needs and customer requests are met promptly.
  • Execute material requirements planning within company ERP systems and ensure the physical movement of inventory and components happens in alignment with ERP system movement.
  • Develop standardized programs, KPIs/metrics, and reports to ensure process operating performance, ongoing improvements, risk identification, visibility, and closed-loop learning.
  • Manage the physical POS area, including inventory counts and reporting, and coordination of offsite inventory counts and reconciliation in brewery systems.
  • Other duties may be assigned to support all aspects of the business.
  • 3+ years of related logistics, warehousing, and inventory management experience.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack (moving up to 1,500-pound pallets) and forklift.
  • Comfortable in a warehouse/manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in brewery, beverage, and/or food plant operations management is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA chemical, equipment, and workplace training, certifications, injury prevention, and materials management protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (e.g., Excel). Demonstrated experience and familiarity with WMS and/or ERP systems.
  • Effective demonstration of analytical skills, aptitude for numbers, and high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritize, and execute in a fast-paced environment.
  • An effective communicator with great interpersonal skills and a customer service mindset.
  • Considered a Plus:
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge and training.
  • Experience participating in the improvement initiatives, deployment, and commissioning of new equipment to scale operations.
  • ERP deployment and integration experience.
