REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work additional hours twice a month to confirm physical inventory counts and resolve discrepancies
  • Knowledge of inventory tracking systems and making reports

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • 2+ years experience working with stock and keeping inventory of product

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ascending/descending ladders
  • Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, lifting, and standing

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile invoices from deliveries.
  • Inspect the levels of inventory to identify shortages/variances.
  • Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers.
  • On-time and accurate placement of orders for all stores for each supplier.
  • Minimize next-day shipping emergency orders through proactive inventory ordering.
  • Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory.
  • Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus.
  • Modeling data within the inventory software system (RICS) to anticipate future needs.
  • Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.
  • Collaborate with Store Managers and other staff to ensure business goals are met and staff are trained.
  • Report to upper management on stock levels, issues, and shrinkage.
  • Assist the Manager of Operations in implementing and enforcing policies and procedures regarding inventory authorization, verification, and safeguarding.
