What you’ll be doing
As a member of CIBC Wood Gundy, you will be responsible for building and growing Wood Gundy client portfolios through dedicated relationship management, trusted investment advice and exceptional client service. As an Investment Advisor you will use the tools provided by CIBC Wood Gundy to research investment products, allowing them to make investment recommendations to prospects and clients. You will work within a team focused on the delivery of an integrated wealth management offer to clients requiring tailored financial solutions. You will apply extensive in-depth knowledge and skills to deliver trusted investment advice by focusing on personalized solutions that achieve the client’s financial goals, applying an understanding of their current financial situation, risk profile, time horizon and other personal change factors. Investment Advisors are expected to build and maintain their own portfolio of high-net-worth clients through various prospecting methods, i.e., telemarketing, networking, seminars, trade shows and various other sales and marketing tools/methods. You will have ownership of processes and milestones, connecting people and networks, drawing on the Bank’s broader team and supporting our community.

How you’ll succeed
- Client Service– Attract and develop a consistent client base. Using extensive knowledge of investment products and services, prospect and identify individual client needs and opportunities. Analyze information/trends and apply it to individual client circumstances. Possess excellent time management and organization skills to meet multiple/tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Relationship Building–Display high levels of interpersonal and relationship building skills in order to effectively network, prospect and build strong, positive and trusting client relationships. Nurture relationships with existing clients that would promote the natural referral of associates, friends and family members.
- Sales & Marketing–Demonstrate well-developed, interactive presentation skills to convey both factual and conceptual ideas to clients. Developed writing skills to prepare proposals and presentation/seminar material.
- Investing – Develop investment plans and written proposals for prospects and clients. Analyze information/trends and apply it to individual client circumstances.
- Collaborating – Participate in seminars for clients and prospects, in collaboration with team members. Demonstrate well-developed, interactive presentation skills to convey both factual and conceptual ideas to clients

- You’re a certified professional. You are currently registered as a Registered Representative with the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). You have current accreditation and good standing Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct & Practice Handbook (CPH).
