Description:
THIS POSITION WILL BE BASED IN MANCHESTER OR LONDON.
Hoist Finance are looking for an intern to join their investment team in 2025 for a period of up to twelve months. The ideal candidate will be studying for or have recently completed studies in an investment or finance related degree. The ideal candidate will have gained experience in working with datasets and acquired technical skills which allow them to manipulate such datasets. The internship could be taken as a “year in industry” if the candidate’s course allows for this. We aim to provide opportunities for the candidate to experience all facets of the investment team and to gain exposure to key stakeholders across the wider business.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Working with senior investment team members to evaluate investment opportunities
- Valuation support & analysis of non-performing, performing and secured loan portfolios
- Preparing investment cases (for standard deals below €10m)
- Reviewing portfolio performance via data analytics
- Presenting valuation and analysis to senior management
- Conducting market research
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong degree in a mathematical/analytical related discipline or equivalent
- Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A technical ability using software (SQL/R or other coding languages)
- Ability to analyse and extract information from large data sets
- Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical/modelling skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders
- Able to work on own initiative and confident to take responsibility
- Fluency in English (other European languages an advantage)
