Description:
Future Energy Ventures is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst with a strong background in strategy. The ideal candidate will conduct market research, perform financial analysis, and support strategic initiatives, contributing to the overall growth and success of our investment portfolio.
Future Energy Ventures is a unique venture capital platform with offices in Berlin, Essen, Palo Alto, and Tel Aviv, and it brings together investors, corporate partners, and start-ups to shape the future energy landscape. We specialize in early-stage Series A and Series B funding-round investments in startups whose climate-tech solutions contribute to making the energy sector and the industries adjacent to net zero.

Our team manages portfolio startups, including companies such as Tado, Bidgely, eSmartSystems, Thermondo, and Enervee, with deep experience in energy transition and adjacent sectors, such as mobility and proptech.
Tasks
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify and evaluate key industry players and emerging trends.
- Strategic Presentations: Prepare and deliver presentations (ppt) to support key operational objectives, strategic initiatives, and business development activities.
- Financial & Commercial Analysis: Assist in financial and commercial analysis, due diligence and preparation of investment proposals.
- Financial Reporting: Analyze financial reports, assist in reviewing advisory board materials, investment agreements, and identify potential new investors and exit strategies.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate investment returns, P&L, cash flows, and capital requirements.
- Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with industry peers and key stakeholders.
- Event Participation: Attend and contribute to relevant industry events and conferences.
- Learning: Stay informed about the latest developments in startups venture capital, M&A activity, and industry news.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, finance, business administration or related fields.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience at a top strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or similar environment with strong focus on strategy, business development and M&A.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of business models, capital markets and investment strategies.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail and proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.
- Initiative and Responsibility: Proactive, deadline-oriented, and capable of taking ownership of tasks and projects.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated Problem-solving skills and strategic mindset.
- Sector Knowledge: Good understanding of venture capital, private equity, or a similar financial sector is advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
