Description:

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to interact with all stakeholders at various levels to ensure efficient delivery of business requests.
  • A working knowledge of SQL and Business Intelligence tools such as Microsoft BI.
  • Knowledge or experience with scripted languages (e.g. R, Matlab, Python).

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in finance, preferably investment/ asset management.
  • A Bachelor’s Honours or Masters Degree in Finance, Business, Quantitative Finance, Engineering or Risk Management.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and different asset classes.
  • Pursuing certifications such as CFA, CAIA, FRM or CIPM is a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities:

ROLE PROFILE

We have an exciting opportunity for an Investment Analytics Intern to join the Investment Analytics and Reporting team at Mediolanum. The Investment Analytics and Reporting team are responsible for preparing critiques and insights into target portfolios and have a clear position analysis on all target funds. In this role, the successful candidate will work with Portfolio Managers to scenario test and to assess risk across a portfolio ensuring there are tolerances. You will also support in the process of ensuring the right Performance Measurement & Portfolio analysis tools, people and processes are in place to support portfolio critiques.

DUTIES

  • Assist with oversight of the Performance attribution and Portfolio analysis management software tools with a view to improve the sophistication of the data integration.
  • Provide critiques and insight about the performance of target portfolios from analysing numbers, market knowledge and using tools to complete risk management and scenario testing.
  • Present critique and insight at committee level regarding Portfolio analysis.
  • Use visually representative tools to create data that is consumable by portfolio managers.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers to improve understanding of portfolios and risk scenarios.
