Description:
YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
As Investment Assistance Vice President, you will be responsible for supporting the team throughout the investment lifecycle, starting from sourcing and execution of transactions to post-closing value creation and asset management tasks all the way to potential opportunistic sell-downs. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following key responsibilities:
- Support the sourcing and execution of transactions, which includes:
- Performing independent research on specific markets and investment opportunities including the derivation of possible investment strategies and delivery of inputs to investment memoranda
- Preparation and maintenance of financial modeling and analysis, company and asset valuations
- Coordination of sub-streams in the acquisition process, particularly due diligence work streams such as technical, commercial, regulatory, legal, ESG, insurance, financial, tax and structuring
- Support asset managers in measuring and creating shareholder value in existing portfolio investments, which includes:
- Analyzing adequate company KPIs to monitor asset developments against investment thesis
- Maintaining and improving valuation models to track investment performance including coordinating various stakeholders such as valuation agent
- Support in strategic decision-making by providing qualitative and quantitative analysis and following-up on legal agreements. Key events include, for instance, changes in capital structure, business strategy, revenues, technology, ESG, governance or regulatory developments
- Writing and further developing periodic reports on the managed investments in companies for the attention of the investors, lenders and investment committees
- Maintaining ongoing relations with industry partners and proactively managing operators and external service providers including, if necessary, retendering of services
- Undertaking proactive liquidity planning including management of debt utilization, equity drawdown processes and financial covenant control
- Support marketing activities, especially regarding fundraising, jointly with the Client Solutions team. This includes the preparation of presentations for existing and prospective clients as well as processing client requests
- Support and/or lead new team- as well as company-wide initiatives to help further grow and streamline the business
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Excellent academic background with a degree from a top-tier university or business school
- 2-5 years of relevant experience working in top-tier companies in any of the following sectors: energy/utilities, M&A/private equity and consulting/advisory
- Affinity with energy technologies and power markets combined with strong knowledge of corporate finance and accounting, as well as experience with complex financial modelling and valuation concepts
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and conceptual thinking
- Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with complex topics and take self-driven ownership
- Independent, proactive and entrepreneurial attitude with a positive, can-do approach
- Fluency in English is a must; other languages are an advantage
