The Private Capital Markets (PCM) team is part of the Equity Capital Markets team and is responsible for the origination and execution of capital raisings for unlisted companies through a variety of structures (common/preferred equity, pre-IPO convertibles, etc.). The team has a strong leadership position in the market.
As an Investment Banking Associate within the PCM team, you will assist in preparing origination / marketing materials to pitch new ideas and execute transactions for clients. You will be involved in the PCM coverage effort for a variety of corporate clients across industries and geographies in the EMEA region. You will work closely together with the broader Equity Capital Markets team and other corporate finance / capital markets teams within the bank (investment banking coverage & industry teams, mergers and acquisitions, debt capital markets, acquisition & leveraged finance and equity derivatives).

Job responsibilities:
- Take part in origination and execution of PCM transactions led by J.P. Morgan
- Draft equity market updates to corporate clients on a regular basis leveraging internal and external databases
- Refine marketing/execution materials for maximum client impact
- Support the day-to-day client interaction and execution of PCM deals
- Participate in idea generation in terms of transaction structures and processes for transactions/clients
- Review and coordinate the analytic work of junior bankers and experience in training junior bankers
- Liaise with other internal and external parties on transactions (e.g. industry teams, lawyers, consultants, etc)
- Support senior team members in negotiations with investors and advising clients on optimal outcomes
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Excellent academic credentials
- Investment banking experience (CF, ALF, ECM, IB coverage, etc.)
- Ability to multi-task, organized, rigorous
- Interest in capital markets and corporate finance
- Ability to work within a team, in a fast-moving, results-driven environment
- Ability to effectively interact with sales people and research analysts, as well as corporate clients and other banks as part of working groups on projects
- Ability to work independently and to take initiative
- Proficient quantitative and analytical skills, including PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
