About this opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity to join Scottish Widows’ Platform Investment Change team as an Investment Data Manager within our Chief Investments Office.
This is a varied role with the right candidate being responsible for embedding a data-driven approach to analytics and reporting, using our wealth of investments data to help advise solutions supporting our customers.
You’ll work closely with a wide group of colleagues across Scottish Widows to support the development of a data strategy, improving data quality and efficiency of processes across our business, which will help drive the continuous evolution of our operating model.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Applying your technical knowledge and expertise to design, implement, and optimally complete data projects that address business challenges in a responsible and effective manner. This involves analysing data, enhancing model efficiency, conducting experiments, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Encouraging effective collaboration within a team of experts, ranging from database managers to data engineers and BI developers, to ensure the successful delivery of end-to-end data products.
  • Collaborating with partners to comprehend business challenges and convert them into technical necessities that are organized, coordinated and delivered in a controlled way.

What you’ll need:

  • Statistical modelling and analysis: With in-depth knowledge of forecasting, clustering, time series analysis, predictive modelling, optimization, and simulation.
  • Python language and application: A good understanding of Python, including writing modular Pythonic code, familiarity with core Python data structures, and proficiency with pandas.
  • SQL: Highly skilled ability to utilise SQL for querying and modifying data.
  • PowerBI visualisation. Highly skilled in the usage, development and maintenance of PowerBI reporting solutions and dashboard functionality.
  • Cloud Platforms: Efficiently work with Cloud Technologies, such as Google Cloud Platform, for data collection, exploration, visualization, and modelling.
  • Collaboration: Experience in building strong networks across organisations utilising your superb communication and social skills!
