ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Investment Manager to join the White City Development Team at Imperial, delivering a significant and exciting programme of asset management, investment and development projects at White City and Old Oak. Imperial are brining forward a new deep-tech campus in White City, extending to 22 acres with the first phase of development largely complete and operational. Imperial has outline planning consent for a c.2.7m sq. ft mixed-use masterplan for the second phase of development that it intends to bring forward, together with partners, over the next decade. This is a mixed use and mixed motive campus providing opportunities for Build-to-Rent, PBSA, Commercial Science and Innovation, Hotel alongside academic uses. Further asset management and development activities are progressing in North Acton and Old Oak as part of the WestTech Corridor strategy. Imperial will progress with major mixed-use development in this location over the next two decades. This includes management of a significant office and industrial portfolio and future mixed-use development including Build-to-Rent, PBSA, Hotel, Residential, Office, Industrial and Science uses. The developments in Old Oak will be delivered through partnership and work will be required to secure development and funding partners in the short to medium term.
The WestTech Corridor strategy aims to create a globally competitive innovation district in North-West London and the team are focused on advising and delivering on the aims from a real estate perspective. The role allows an opportunity for investment advisory to the wider University including Imperials Endowment.
The Investment Manager will work for the ‘investment’ function within the White City Development Team, focused primarily on investment strategy, transactions, asset management, planning & development. The Investment Manager will form a key part of a small team and have a varied and changing set of day to day financial and project management responsibilities.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
You will be responsible for the implementation of new and existing investment property activities, including major regeneration projects, working under direct instruction from the Investment Directors. You will have a level of delegated authority to manage a variety of projects. You will provide strategic input, analysis and make recommendations regarding existing ventures, to ensure strong asset management.
You will provide professional support and a deputising function to the Investment Directors. This includes identifying and assessing potential new opportunities and maintaining a high-level review of the performance and future financial needs of the various components of the University estate. As part of this, you will lead in identifying, researching, and assessing potential acquisition and disposal opportunities, taking transactions through to completion. You will also be required to consult and engage with internal and external stakeholders including local community groups, local authorities, property consultants and legal advisors. This includes formal reporting and analysis.
You will have the opportunity to undertake training including property and/or investment related qualifications (not required).
