Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Support trade settlement and life-cycle management across various asset types such as: fixed-income, private loans, equities and derivatives positions.
- Communicate with portfolio managers, counterparties and custodians on trade information flow, including activity across DTC and other clearinghouses to ensure proper trade settlement and reporting
- Liaise with external service providers to support end to end processes related to Loan Administration, Risk Analytics, Investment Accounting and Derivative management
- Assist with various treasury functions including liquidity/cash management, reconciliation of cash balances across accounts and various reporting
- Support onboarding and KYC process with borrowers and trading counterparties
- Collaborate with investment accounting team on month end close cycle and various reporting deliverables
- Liaise with technology services on integrations and process improvements
- Develop dashboards and regular reporting for senior management, portfolio managers, risk and legal functions including investment compliance, risk, performance and other ad-hoc needs
- Participate in system implementation and process improvement projects as required
- Build a reputation as a subject matter expert in the private investments domain for issues related to investment operations
Qualifications/Candidate Profile:
- This position offers excellent opportunities in a dynamic environment. To qualify, candidates must have:
o 2-3 years of experience; CPA/CFA/CAIA designation is preferred.
o Working knowledge of trade life-cycle processes within Investment Operations (middle office) related to alternative asset classes, private investments and fixed income.
o Proficient in various settlement and reconciliation processes.
o Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and other office applications (ie: Power BI); experience with other technical software is advantageous.
o Strong analytical, financial and management accounting skills will be necessary to perform this role
o Strong problem solving skills, comfortable working through unknowns
o Solid understanding of debt instruments and fixed income
o Superior communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to multi-task with good time management skills to meet multiple reporting deadlines.
o Exposure to insurance requirements is an asset.
