The Inwards goods Head of Department role is a key role within our store, requiring an experienced, organised, quick thinking and capable person to work within our Inwards Goods Department. This position is full on and requires someone who rolls up their sleeves and is very hands on with their team, has proven supervisory experience in a big box warehousing environment and the ability to make concise quick decisions at any moment.
ABOUT YOU:
- We are looking for an individual who is highly self-motivated and customer focused and you will have a proven track record of meeting & exceeding operational goals and KPI’s.
- Ideally you will have 3-4 years experience in people management with the ability to engage your teams to continually improve. You are someone who does this by working with your team in a hands on approach.
- Your ability to build collaborative partnerships internally and externally will be a key strength you will be able to leverage from day one.
- You will have sound knowledge of health and safety practices in a warehousing environment and ideally possess a current forklift license.
- You will need the ability to identify opportunities and you will be the sort of person who is continually looking for efficiencies or opportunities to improve existing processes and work methodologies.
- You will have a proven knowledge of inwards and outward goods in a similar large environment
- Logistics experience, having some insight into planning and implementing efficient systems to get goods from point of origin to store would be a real asset.

Responsibilities:
- Your role will lead business and process improvements in the Inwards goods.
- Supervising day to day operations ensuring consistent and accurate processing of and the timely receipt of inbound inventory
- You will be involved in the development and implementation of improved policies and procedures.
- Keeping the site operating with a high standard of health and safety and facilitating training and development which is critical to ensure standards are met and exceeded.
- You will work with an experienced team and support the Operations Manager to implement new ideas and modify existing practices or champion your own ideas around process improvements.
