We are currently looking for an experienced IP Counsel (60-80% workload) to join our team and drive the future of optical technology.

Tasks

  • Identify valuable IP and management of invention disclosures
  • Support inventors to draft inventions disclosures
  • Draft patent applications and/or outsource patent application drafting to outside counsel
  • Prosecution of patent applications with outside counsel
  • Communicate between Inventors/Management/Outside counsel
  • Draft opinions for search reports / office actions
  • Update internal IP database
  • Optimize patent portfolio in view of product landscape
  • Review of granted patent applications
  • Manage surveillance of patent landscape (IP alerts)
  • Draft third party opinions
  • Perform prior art search/FTO search
  • Support IP licensing negotiations, IP litigation and development of IP related strategies
  • Co-Drive innovation processes

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering science (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, physics) or related fields, diploma as patent attorney is advantageous
  • Professional experience in patent law, preferably in the field of optics, optoelectronics or -mechanics
  • Quick understanding of technology matters, in particular mechanics and optics are of relevance
  • Good communication skills in English, German preferred
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving tasks
