Description:

OBJECTIVE

The IPM Technician will support the essential functions regarding Integrative Pest Management in the Cultivation department. They will learn and execute how to identify cannabis pests, mold and mildews, proper scouting techniques, delivering beneficials, and spraying pesticides. This role will work closely with the IPM Manager to assist in IPM related activities and develop plans and schedules. When the IPM Technician tasks are not scheduled, this position will support the Cultivation Associate duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be 21 years of age to apply
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Must maintain Good Agricultural Practices and GAP certified preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the IPM Manager on training sessions and learning opportunities.
  • Perform daily inspections of cultivation zones and plants, reporting and recording any issues, irregularities, and areas of concern.
  • Scout; identify various pests, pathogens, and other potential threats to the facility.
  • Aid the IPM Manager in mitigating, preventing, and eradicating these issues using sprays, beneficials add/or traps.
  • Work with the IPM manager in developing a schedule and executing action items. Monitor and report on effectiveness of preventive and reactive measures
  • Properly utilize both preventative and reactive sprays, in conjunction with various biological control agents
  • Communicate and report findings to IPM Manager and cultivation team in a clear and timely manner
  • Utilize irrigation equipment and hand-watering methods to apply solutions formulated with the correct nutrients and pH.
  • Prepare grow media using specialized machinery and prepare pots for transplanting.
  • Maintain plants through pruning, trellising, and defoliating.
  • Move plants to selected areas while maintaining Bio Track records accurately.
  • Participate in harvest activities including defoliation, trimming, bud removal, drying, grinding, packaging, cleaning, and waste removal.
  • Participate in training sessions designed to either improve your skills or your understanding of the regulations.
  • Complete paperwork in room assigned binders according to Good Agricultural Practices and regulations.
  • Maintain a sterile work environment through routine cleaning and sanitizing of tools, equipment, and surfaces.
  • Dispose of waste in accordance with the New York State Regulations, ensuring that waste has been denatured before leaving the premises and that Bio Tracking has occurred.
  • Follow the Etain LLC guidelines for sanitary practices regarding hand washing, and the use of PPE such as protective lenses, suits (when necessary), gloves, shoe covers, scrubs, masks (when necessary) hair nets, and work shoes.
