Description:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Management, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of direct work experience in IT or a related discipline may be considered as a substitute for a degree.

EXPERIENCE/SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years overall IT experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience focusing on system development, support, implementation, and upgrades.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of development experience using VB.Net, C#, ASP.Net, ASP.Net Web API, REST API/JSON, LINQ, and SQL in the MS Visual Studio .NET architecture.
  • Experience in the full product development life cycle.
  • Established SQL skills in MS SQL and/or Oracle databases.
  • Experience with Telerik 3rd party controls is a plus.
  • Experience with git, git-hub, versioning, and source control.
  • Ability to read and write code that implements business logic within Model methods, properties, and events.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Analytical thinker who can utilize a functional understanding of the various components of systems in conjunction with technical knowledge to identify effective and efficient problem resolutions.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills; must communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel.
  • Ability to work well both individually with minimal supervision and in a team environment where the sharing of knowledge is highly regarded and expected.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in an application development environment using WinForms, Microsoft.Net, or equivalent technology.
  • Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate systems requirements verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in effectively communicating business and technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in working on multiple assignments during the same time frame juggling tasks based on relative priorities with supervision commensurate with grade level.
  • Use time effectively and efficiently.
  • Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Tallgrass Energy Partners IT group is looking for an IT Applications Systems Dev II to provide support for third-party applications and various web development.
Researches, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging, and installing to support an organization’s application systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Writes manuals for users to describe installation and operating procedures. May write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Requires a bachelor’s degree. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities focus upon support and basic development of various transactional applications, third-party applications, ASP.NET web-based applications using VB.Net, C#, ASP.Net, ASP.Net Web API, REST API/JSON, LINQ, SQL, enterprise environments, and others as relevant. This includes working with the functional user groups to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot these applications.
  • Engaged in the collection and interpretation of functional users’ requirements and participation in the identification, technical translation, development, and implementation of solutions to meet those needs, primarily as they relate to bolt-on applications, interfaces between the systems, reporting and data collection for various internal and external audit requests.
  • Other duties include working with users and software vendors to address financial application-related issues and application upgrade activities.
  • Converts project specifications, using flowcharts and diagrams, into a sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for coding into language able to be processed by computer, applying knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer languages.
  • After-hours support is an additional responsibility shared with others in the group.
  • Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
  • Writes manual for users to describe installation and operating procedures.
  • Regularly works under deadlines.
  • Supports user training on various programs.
  • Provide technical assistance to program users.
  • Monitor the performance of the program after implementation.
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listening carefully.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
