THE ROLE:

This role is responsible for building, implementing, and supporting BI reports and dashboards. The right individual will possess experience in all stages of BI project work to build and deliver reports (requirements and logical design, physical design, implementation, testing and deployment). The BI Developer should have a firm grasp of BI implementation methodologies and will have had in-depth experience with PowerBI.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting and Forms Development
Analyse and document business requirements, design and develop complex reports, forms, and dashboards.
Reverse engineer current reports.
Resolve end user reporting problems through collaboration with IT and Business Organisations.
Interact with report owners to establish/clarify their requirements and develop report specifications.
Provide management and business users with requested reports, dashboards, and forms within established timeframes.
Synthesize complex or diverse information by collecting data and analysing data using tools to formulate insightful conclusions.
Generate creative solutions, use feedback to modify designs.
Applies design principles and displays a high attention to detail.
Communications & documentation
Create written communication materials that effectively summarize findings
Direct quality assurance and user acceptance testing by writing test plans and managing or performing the execution of testing (unit and UAT).
Present data meaningfully and accurately so user interpretation leads to smart business decisions.
Essential Experience
At least 5 years BI Report Development (Microsoft SSRS) experience and 1-2 years directly with PowerBI
Understand and have expertise in the various technologies needed to implement PowerBI solutions
General Relational Database development and SQL Language experience
1-2 years ETL experience, including SSIS
Problem solving, analytical and communication abilities
Proven record of managing multiple competing priorities
Goal and action orientated with a proven ability to deliver within specified timeframes
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to form positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
