Description:

ABOUT US

National Grid is at the heart of the UK energy network keeping people connected and society moving. We develop, own and maintain the physical infrastructure, such as pylons and cables needed to move the electricity generated from windfarms and power sources around the country. Every time a phone is plugged in, or a switch is turned on, we’ve played a part, connecting you to the electricity you need - and we’re leading the transformation towards a greener future, dreaming bigger to bring a more affordable energy future to everyone.
But it’s our people that provide our true superpower. They drive and sustain our growth, their unique differences only making us stronger. But it’s no small feat – and we need the best to join us in our mission. So, join us and power the future of energy.

Some of your accountabilities will include:

  • Define, analyze, measure and recommend improvement initiatives for National Grid Global IT processes.
  • Utilize Lean, or Lean Six Sigma tools and metrics to evaluate performance of IT processes, identify pain points and work with key stakeholders to build and execute improvement solutions.
  • Capture requirements and drive process change using staff interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, business analysis and workflow analysis.
  • Create and communicate critical material based on the revised processes, to include training, reporting and systems enhancements
  • Identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system

Responsibilities:

Advancing our technology capabilities is vital to National Grid’s ability to realise our vision to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future. Our IT & Digital function is partnering with our business and using new technologies to help improve how we do our job – through cloud computing, artificial intelligence or machine learning, to name just a few.
We create, continuously drive and improve the processes, metrics, and tools that plan, track, and optimise IT investments to deliver business outcomes.
The Global IT EPMO manages National Grid’s IT program and project delivery processes. They aim to align processes and tools across the US and UK regions. They’re seeking someone experienced in analyzing and improving IT processes. The role involves working with IT leadership to identify improvement opportunities, conducting independent analysis, making recommendations, and presenting findings. The goal is to align globally, evolve IT, and enhance Agile capabilities for growth.
