The Information Technology Department with the City of Chilliwack, a growing and vibrant community of 100,580 located 100 kilometres east of Vancouver, is seeking a skilled individual to fill the position of IT Co-Op Student. The City of Chilliwack takes great pride in its focus on providing excellent service to its citizens and we are looking for a like-minded person to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Must be enrolled in the Co-operative Education Program at a recognized post-secondary institution and have met the specific entrance criteria for that program;
- Sound knowledge of English business communications;
- Able to perform assignments with minimal supervision;
- Good knowledge of modern office practices and procedures;
- Observing and complying with municipal policies and ensuring the safety and security of confidential material pertaining to the Department’s operation;
- Have working knowledge of computer operating systems, and software including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products;
- Creating, managing and closing helpdesk request tickets;
- Installation of hardware including computers, monitors, keyboards & mice;
- Office moves – moving PCs, monitors and desk phones;
- Cable management, tidying up cables;
- Driving to our remote facilities to support IT equipment with a valid Class 7N or 5 BC driver’s license
