Job Description
About the Role: Fragomen, an AmLaw 100 firm and the leading immigration services provider, is seeking a skilled Communications and Training Specialist to help promote data literacy across our organization. The communications produced by this Specialist will be technical in nature. Applicants with experience in subjects such as Information Technology and Data (ideally with experience in topics related to Data Risk, Data Management, Data Literacy, and Data Governance) will be able to leverage that experience in this role. The position will be based with Fragomen in Costa Rica.

How will you make a difference as an IT Communications and Training at Fragomen?

  • Support the Data Management Program by promoting data literacy across the firm
  • Connect tactical communications activities to a high-level strategy to present a cohesive, engaging narrative to key audiences ranging from team level to C-Suite/Partner/Executive-Committee level
  • Plan, coordinate, prepare materials for, and moderate team meetings and Data Management Community meetings to capture the attention of busy audiences and communicate important information in a compelling way
  • Collect and prepare materials for Data Governance Council meetings (and Data Working Group meetings as necessary)
  • Develop, coordinate, and communicate yearly and ongoing training courses and materials (overview sheets, video drops, PowerPoint decks, etc.)
  • Collect feedback from training sessions for future improvements to content and existing programs
  • Establish templates for ongoing use by Data Management Team members
  • Create, monitor, and manage Data Management Team Fragomen Way Page content and SharePoint Site workspace
  • Draft and publish news articles, firm-wide emails, and other releases with minimal oversight
  • Prepare content for and manage the Data Management Team internal chat forum
  • Research and propose various and new communication mechanisms

Leverage your valuable skills and experience to make an impact at Fragomen:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English or a related field; or a high school degree and equivalent professional experience
  • Strong PowerPoint and SharePoint skills
  • Ability to simplify complex information about data into succinct summaries
  • Creativity in thinking outside the box
  • Strong writing, organization, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Takes initiative to research industry best practices, firm-options, etc.
  • Foundational knowledge of Data in it’s context.
  • Nice to have: understanding data sources and constructs, analytical methods and techniques applied, along with the ability to describe the use case, application and resulting value
