JOB SUMMARY

C.A.T. North America, a leading company in the transportation and logistics industry, is seeking to add a dynamic and highly skilled Corporate Trainer to join the IT team. As a Corporate Trainer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of our workforce by imparting comprehensive training on both software applications and business processes related to the transportation and logistics industry. Job Description: Corporate Trainer (Software and Business Processes) – Transportation and Logistics Industry

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, or a related field. Relevant certifications in training and development will be a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Corporate Trainer, specifically in delivering training for both software applications and business processes in the transportation or logistics industry.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency in various software applications commonly used in the transportation or logistics industry, such as transportation management systems (TMS), fleet management software, route planning tools, and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Strong knowledge of business processes and best practices within the transportation and logistics industry, including dispatch operations, load planning, driver management, and compliance.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt training content to meet varying learning styles.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting virtual training sessions and utilizing e-learning platforms and tools.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess training effectiveness and make data-driven improvements to training programs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple training projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to travel to different company locations, as required, to conduct in-person training sessions.
  • Passion for continuous learning and self-improvement, keeping up to date with industry trends and instructional design techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs tailored to the specific needs of the transportation and logistics industry, covering software applications and business processes.
  • Conduct training sessions for various departments, including but not limited to drivers, dispatchers, operations, and administrative staff, both in-person and through virtual platforms.
  • Utilize various training methodologies and techniques, such as presentations, group discussions, hands-on exercises, and workshops, to ensure effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather relevant information and update training materials to reflect the latest industry trends and best practices.
  • Assess training needs and performance gaps among employees to design targeted training solutions and measure the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees in utilizing software applications effectively, optimizing workflows, and adhering to standardized business processes.
  • Create and maintain training documentation, including user manuals, quick reference guides, and online resources for easy reference by employees.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the transportation and logistics industry and related software tools to continuously improve the training curriculum and delivery methods.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure proper onboarding and orientation of new hires, incorporating essential software and business process training components.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency based on feedback from training sessions and real-world experiences.
  • Work in tandem with Business Analysts and Programmers in testing new processes, workflows or system changes and features.
