Description:
BDO Ireland is seeking a dynamic IT/Cyber Security Consultant to join our innovative Risk and Advisory Services Department. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing and performing IT and cyber security control assessments, advising clients on managing IT/cyber risks, and leading internal audit projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Assisting and conducting cyber security controls assessments.
- Advising clients on their cyber risk profile through internal audit and consulting initiatives.
- Offer specialized knowledge in cyber risk, staying abreast of the threat landscape, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Performing independent and objective IT internal control procedure reviews.
- Work closely with Managers & Partners to assist with delivery of a complex portfolio of IT audits and cybersecurity engagements.
- Identify prospects for improving service delivery and offering supplementary services to clients.
- Display proficiency in communication and presentation skills and engage proactively in client interactions.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 2+ years Cyber security / IT audit experience, IT Governance Risk and Compliance, or IT audit with consulting practice.
- Demonstrated interest, training, experience, and certification (e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001) is highly advantageous.
- Robust technical knowledge of control frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001 etc.), IT risk (consultancy experience), security reviews, or regulatory landscape (e.g., GDPR, DORA, NIS2 etc.).
- Proven capability to establish enduring relationships and networks with team members and clients.
- Track record of managing projects with a dedication to fostering the development of oneself and colleagues.
- Experience in a consultancy/advisory service.
- Proficiency in business development skills and a history of contributing to organizational growth.
- Comfortable with presentation skills.
