IT Delivery Manager
Salary £50,000 - £55,000
We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Delivery Manager to join our Digital Platform team. This is a great role for someone who can act as an exemplar for strong behaviours required in Agile methodology and change delivery such as exceptional communication, transparency, collaboration skills, pro-activity, pragmatism and flexibility!
A bit about the job:
Change delivery at Aviva uses the most appropriate delivery model, including Scrum and Kanban, scaled to deliver large and/or complex change. Agile and DevOps is core to the way Aviva operates and we utilize other modern, adaptive, and team-centric approaches to delivery and operations. This role supports these approaches, developing and continuously improving Agile capability and maturity in the team while facilitating teams to inspire change delivery as effectively as possible with quality and innovation in line with Agile values and principles.
This is a facilitative servant leadership role, and the successful candidate should seek to promote self-organisation within the team and drive increasing levels of software engineering maturity. They should ensure the path is clear for the team by removing blockers, facilitating discussions, enabling seamless communication, and working closely with the Technology Platform Lead and Product Owner to clarify future product backlog.
You’ll optimize the delivery of integrated change across the assigned technology platform while teaching, coaching and guiding the team to follow the values and principles of Agile and apply the appropriate Agile framework and techniques and create an environment of self-organisation.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • A solid understanding of Agile values and principles with knowledge of widely successful Agile techniques and software development processes: Test Automation, Continuous Integration, DevOps, Refactoring, TDD/BDD
  • A good overall knowledge of a range of Agile frameworks
  • Ability to coach, mentor and development individuals
  • Good stakeholder management skills and an ability to inspire individuals and teams to change and improve
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn and explore new ideas
