We are looking for an IT Engineer to join us on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role working from our Glasgow office 3 days a week but also involves travel to other offices when required.
The IT engineer will be a passionate helper, supporting team members in ensuring smooth, slick operations for existing employees and new joiners. The IT Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s hardware infrastructure and ensuring a smooth IT operation across all offices. You will primarily be based in our Glasgow office three days a week but will occasionally be required to travel to other locations for critical projects or support as needed.

As a IT Engineer your duties will include:

  • Hardware Management:
  • Manage and maintain IT hardware assets, including servers, laptops, desktops, networking equipment, and mobile devices.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of physical IT infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Conduct regular hardware audits and monitor system health to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Enable and manage BYOD for teams own devices for access to company tooling
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide on-site support to staff in the Glasgow office and support to other office locations.
  • Respond to Support tickets and slack channel requests and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Set up new devices for employees, configure network access, and handle user permissions.
  • Infrastructure & Networking:
  • Manage office networks and VPN configurations, and ensure secure connectivity across multiple sites.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks, updates, and upgrades on network devices.
  • Maintain and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
  • Office IT Coordination:
  • Coordinate with external IT vendors when required for hardware repairs, purchases, or technical assistance.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, including office moves, network upgrades, and system migrations.
  • Document and maintain IT infrastructure and support manuals.
  • Setup, configure and support office AV solutions across Microsoft Teams and Google Meet AV hardware.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an IT Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role within a corporate or digital consultancy environment.
  • Proficiency in hardware and network management (servers, laptops, desktops, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and supporting hardware and software issues, both remotely and on-site.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS, and network security.
  • AWS and GCP experience is highly advantageous, including familiarity with services like Google Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, or Kubernetes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other offices when needed.
  • Familiarity with both Apple and Windows systems

Desirable skills

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks is a plus
