Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study right in the heart of the city and we currently have an exciting opportunity for Graduate IT Support Technicians to join our dynamic team working with staff and students across the University. This role will join an established team and play a major part in supporting customers across our Faculties and professional service staff at our City Centre and City South campuses. This will suit graduates with a strong interest in IT customer service and first-line support, who are looking to begin their career in an exciting environment. While confidence in using technology is important in this role, you don’t need to be an IT specialist at this stage as we will support you in learning the technologies required for the role. We welcome candidates who have graduated from any BCU courses, not just those based in computing. Proven customer service skills, enthusiasm to learn and a commitment to supporting students are the key characteristics of our IT Graduate Technicians.
The role will be on-site working directly with students, staff, and other users of our buildings. You will be responsible for day-to-day IT support, providing excellent customer service and effective management of incidents and service requests which have been assigned to the team. You will be working on a busy helpdesk in one of our support locations or on our Service Desk interacting with customers over the phone and assisting in support of the technology which enables teaching, including AV equipment, infrastructure, and end-user devices.
