IT Head TechOps Strategy and Domain Architecture is in charge of the architecture, technology strategy and vision of the technology landscape for the Operations capability domains ensuring full alignment with Lonza business objectives (Plant Operations, Manufacturing Operations, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Laboratory Management, Regulatory, EHS and Learning). The role defines the short and long term vision of the technology landscape to build core critical capabilities driving digital innovation and smart operations. The role works with the Enterprise Architects and other Solution Architects to set the overall architecture standards and directions in the business domains of responsibilities, ensuring the right short and long term IT/OT investments are made across the end to end value stream.

You are a senior leader, with an extensive background in IT and OT technologies, coupled with significant functional and process experience in the technical operations domains in scope, ideally in a pharmaceutical sector. You are passionate about technologies, as well as business process design, you would like to drive the innovation and improvement agenda and make an impact in a dynamic company.
Major accountabilities within the domains of responsibility (Plant Operations, Manufacturing Operations, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Laboratory Management, Regulatory, EHS and Learning)
- Strategy development:
- Analyzes wider industry trends, best practice and provides outside and market perspectives. Leads the smart manufacturing strategy definition and vision.
- Domain architecture and Technology Road mapping:
- Elaborates the domain architecture baseline, target and roadmap, covering capabilities, applications and platforms, services, information and data, technologies and architecture-relevant relations among these
- Defines technology standards by business capability and ensures the right design across products, projects and programs. Lead technology identification and evaluations studies.
- Acts as single point of contact for the Enterprise Architecture team for the CoE Operations (around 800 IT/OT technologies in scope)
- Continuous improvement:
- Assess current state of technologies and capabilities, identify risks and gaps and drives continuous improvement and effective governance processes (e.g. opportunities to reduce redundancy, consolidate applications and platforms, improve operational deficiencies, close existing capability gaps, recover technology depth, etc.)
- Leadership:
- Develops strong credibility and manage relationships with senior stakeholders
- Leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of direct/indirect internal and/or external solution architects
Key requirements:
Domain skills and experience:
- Bachelor in the field of Engineering or Technology management
- Deep knowledge in the main IT solution domains, such as business applications. Extensive background in several of the IT and OT technologies in scope and significant functional and end to end process knowledge of the major operations domains (Manufacturing Execution, Shop floor scheduling, facility, utilities and plant maintenance, plant constructions and engineering, product life cycle management and manufacturing science, Laboratory management and operations, Quality Management, GxP Learning, Regulatory).
- Experience in business teams in roles like product owner, business solution manager, process owner, others
- Experience with Heath&Life Science/Pharmaceutical/Consumer sector
- Sound knowledge of IT innovation approaches and digital solution development approaches. Strong knowledge and experience with smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0
- Must be business fluent in English
- Strong financial background and experience in business case creation, capital investment preparation
- Good knowledge of frameworks like ITIL, SAFe, TOGAF is recommended
- Extensive experience in working in regulated/GxP environments
