Description:
LOCATED IN ST PAUL’S COLLEGIATE SCHOOL HAMILTON
St Paul’s Collegiate School is an independent school based in Hamilton and home to approximately 200 staff and 900 day and boarding students. We’re looking for a reliable, customer-focused IT Helpdesk / AV Technician to be the go-to person for technical support for both staff and students.
In this role, you’ll handle a range of technical issues, from initial contact via email, phone, or in person, to working with users to deliver timely solutions. When you need extra support, our Systems Engineer will be available to assist with Level 2 escalations.
This is a busy, hands-on position, supporting over 1200 devices across two campuses—including PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, and BYOD. On an average day, you might be monitoring systems, setting up new PCs, or supporting AV needs.
When you’re not responding to helpdesk requests, you’ll collaborate with the Systems Engineer and Director of Digital Learning on IT projects, giving you valuable learning and development opportunities.
As the face of IT at St Paul’s, you’ll be friendly, approachable, and able to adapt your communication style based on your audience. Whether you’re helping a student with a broken device, guiding a teacher through new software, or providing AV support for school or external events, professionalism will be key.
We are looking for someone with an interest in IT and AV and ideally some experience in a similar role. Microsoft Certification would be highly regarded. While your typical hours will be 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, some evening or weekend flexibility will be required for special events.
At St Paul’s, we have a strong team culture and great benefits—including free cooked lunches during term time.
