ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Minimum 3+ years commercial experience
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Able to work autonomously and with minimal direction
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices for Service Management
  • Proven experience of working with development/QA teams
  • Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022 and Windows Client Operating Systems
  • Active Directory and Windows services (DNS, DHCP, ADFS, Certificate Services)
  • VMware vSphere Virtualisation

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server OS (or equivalent)
  • Citrix remote access (XenDesktop and Netscaler)
  • Cisco networking (Catalyst, Industrial and Nexus switching and routing)
  • Dell EMC backup & storage (Networker, DataDomain, PowerProtect, Unity and PowerStore)
  • HPE and Dell Servers (ProLiant, Edgeline, and PowerEdge families)
  • Trellix ePO Endpoint Security
  • Industry/vendor accreditation such as CCNA, RHCSA and VCP
  • Project management experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

This role requires the job holder to:

  • When required for specific project/client assignments, pass additional security vetting such as Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. This will require the applicant to be a UK national or have been a resident in the UK for a minimum of five years, and to provide detailed information about their personal and professional background, including any previous criminal convictions or financial issues.
  • Be able to perform elements of the job that are of a physically demanding nature. Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with disabilities.
  • Be able to perform elements of the job that require working at height. Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with disabilities.
  • Have a full driving license with access to a vehicle with relevant insurance.
  • Be able to travel overseas occasionally.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

To support our ongoing growth plans we are looking for a commercially experienced IT infrastructure engineer who will be responsible for providing expert-level break/fix support, routine maintenance, and project delivery for IT infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Leveraging strong problem-solving skills and root cause analysis expertise to diagnose complex issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting complex technical issues where the root cause is not apparent and may lie outside of your core skill set.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to implement IT best practices and adhere to ITIL framework standards.
  • Working across multiple projects and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Working with multiple vendors and client’s staff to deliver projects and resolve support incidents.
