Responsibilities:
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The core responsibility of the IT Network Engineer is the management of all network components, firewalls, load balancers, IPS systems, dial-in systems, and data centers. Particular emphasis is placed on network security, monitoring of the entire network, and minimizing the impact of internal and external attacks (hackers, botnets, APT, DDoS, etc.).
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Network Infrastructure Management:
- Review, design, planning, expansion, implementation, and operation of the network infrastructure, including Internet connections.
- Apply modern “state-of-the-art” technologies to ensure trouble-free and uninterrupted productive operations.
- Network Monitoring:
- Monitor the network using tools like Icinga, Stealthwatch, and Checkpoint, focusing especially on transaction processing within the agreed operating hours.
- Firewall and Security Systems Customization:
- Customize firewall and security systems to meet organizational needs.
- Active Network Security Monitoring:
- Utilize SIEM for active network security monitoring to minimize the impact of attacks from hackers, botnets, APT, and DDoS.
- Capacity and Performance Management:
- Manage and optimize network capacity and performance.
- Disaster Recovery Planning:
- Create disaster recovery concepts for the network area and conduct and document corresponding DR exercises.
- Business Process and Data Analysis:
- Analyze and understand the involved business processes and data.
- Workshop Participation:
- Prepare for and participate in workshops for new projects.
- Process Optimization:
- Continuously analyze and optimize process flows.
- Support and Problem-Solving:
- Support the specialist departments in problem-solving.
- Project Participation:
- Participate in various projects to improve network systems.
- Incident, Problem, and Change Management:
- Handle incident, problem, and change management tasks.
- On-Call Duty:
- Participate in on-call duty rotations to ensure continuous network operation.
