KEY REQUIREMENTS:
We’re interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong experience in IT operations, including server administration, networking, and cloud services.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g.,Google Workspace, AWS, Azure) and cloud-based infrastructure management.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices for firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Project Management Skills:
- Proven experience in managing and delivering IT projects, with a solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, ITIL) are a plus.
Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW:
As an IT Ops & Project Engineer at Twinkl, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our IT infrastructure while also leading and supporting various IT projects. This dual role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a proactive mindset to ensure our IT operations run smoothly and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- IT Operations Management:
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the company’s IT infrastructure, including firewalls, networks, servers, and cloud services.
- Ensure the security, availability, and performance of Twinkl’s IT systems.
- Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
- Provide technical support to internal teams, resolving IT issues promptly.
- Project Engineering:
- Lead and support IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement IT solutions that support business objectives.
- Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and risk assessments.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to existing IT systems and processes.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their IT needs and provide effective solutions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, bringing innovative ideas to enhance Twinkl’s IT capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of IT policies and procedures to ensure best practices for Twinkl are followed.
