This posting is for one (1) Temporary Full-Time position with Benefits that may continue until December 31, 2025
The Planning and Delivery Branch requires one (1) project manager to manage projects for Edmonton Police Service initiatives. The Branch is responsible for the delivery of many projects across the organization and requires a project manager to assist with the planning and execution of these projects. The project manager will be highly skilled with a solid understanding of project management and coordination. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing projects through the entire project lifecycle.
- Preparing project charters defining the scope, schedule, priorities, deliverables, roles and responsibilities, milestones and completion criteria of projects.
- Managing project budgets.
- Ensuring that all projects are delivered on time according to EPS governance requirements.
- Setting and managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring regular project status reports are communicated with team members andstakeholders.
- Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a related discipline and 4 years experience in a project leadership role in an Information Technology environment OR Post-secondary diploma in a related discipline and 6 years related experience, of which 4 years is in a project leadership role in an Information Technology environment.
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Designation would be considered an asset.
- A relevant Project Management certification.
- Previous experience working in a police environment.
- Experience in information technology would be an asset.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills and can work well in dynamic environments.
- Excellent inter-personal skills.
- Excellent team building skills.
- Follow project management processes as defined by management.
- Experience managing budgets would be an asset.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week , Monday – Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program. The candidate may be required to work evenings and/or weekends to assist, as required, for critical project activities.
Salary Range: 21B, Salary Grade: 039, $52.86 - $67.38 (Hourly), $4,229.30 - $5,390.60 (Bi-Weekly), $110,384.21 - $140,695.70 (Annually) The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
