We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance IT Recruiter with experience in sourcing, screening, and hiring IT professionals for Ontario Public Sector roles. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of public sector recruitment processes, compliance requirements, and Ontario government IT frameworks (GO-ITS, procurement models, etc.). This role involves working closely with hiring managers, understanding role requirements, and identifying top IT talent for contract and full-time positions.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as an IT recruiter, specifically in Ontario Public Sector recruitment.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario government hiring processes, procurement guidelines, and contract staffing models.
- Familiarity with IT roles such as software development, cybersecurity, cloud computing, DevOps, networking, and project management.
- Experience in high-volume recruitment and ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously.
- Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and job boards.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to engage with candidates and stakeholders.
- Understanding of security clearance requirements for government IT roles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience recruiting for roles within Ontario ministries, agencies, or Crown corporations.
- Knowledge of GO-ITS standards, Public Sector Threat Risk Assessment (TRA), and Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA).
- Established network of pre-qualified IT professionals in Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Talent Sourcing & Screening: Identify and engage qualified IT professionals through job boards, LinkedIn, networking, and referrals.
- Candidate Assessment: Evaluate technical skills, experience, and alignment with Ontario Public Sector job specifications.
- Client Coordination: Collaborate with hiring managers and HR teams to understand job requirements and provide tailored recruitment solutions.
- Public Sector Compliance: Ensure recruitment processes align with Ontario Public Sector standards, including security clearance and procurement frameworks.
- Offer Negotiation & Onboarding: Assist in salary negotiations, contract structuring, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain a network of pre-vetted IT professionals for future roles in government agencies.
