EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Able to manage and prioritise multiple issues with minimal supervision, you will have excellent organisational skills, and be equally comfortable contributing as part of a team and when working independently. You will have experience of helpdesk procedure, report writing and project management. With substantial experience of supporting IT, you will be familiar with installation of Windows Operating systems, Windows Active Directory Services, Office365 and have an ability to evaluate systems administration tools. Experience with Azure and Intune is a plus.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated good experience supporting Information Technology operations or technological work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize service requests with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A teamwork approach and ability to act independently to solve problems.
- Engage comfortably with more senior managers, effectively present business solutions, determine the best way to get things, done by talking their language and responding to their needs, develop approaches likely to be seen as appropriate and positive.
- Ability to follow standard service desk procedures and quickly redirect problems to appropriate resources.
- Ability to manage small projects and understanding of project methodology is required.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, resilience in the face of continual change, and ability to handle high demands.
- Experience administering small-size corporate server rooms and coordinating with facilities groups.
- Availability to occasional travel to other locations within the UK.
- ITIL awareness is desirable.

Responsibilities:
Coherent Corp. is a global leader in the development and manufacture of optics and lasers and our Global Information Technology Department is currently seeking an IT Site Coordinator for our state-of–the-art facility, based at our site in Glasgow.
As a member of our global IT team, you will provide on-site Workplace IT support services to our Glasgow site and remote support to our Daventry site (occasional travel needed to provide on-site-support) as well as to our employees working remotely. You will maintain the IT infrastructure located at our sites and be a helping hand to other IT departments (like network operations) for on-site tasks. You will liaise with corporate IT and local business and line managers and ensure that all aspects of the manufacturing processes are supported from an IT perspective. In addition, you will work closely with corporate IT staff outside the UK on implementing local and global projects to ensure the highest levels of operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide IT support and manage IT services at multiple regional sites, escalate priority issues, resolve IT incidents as process IT service requests needed.
- Work with local department managers and corporate IT staff to analyze and resolve problems associated with technical issues and recommend solutions for changing needs.
- Develop, document and implement standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines relating to IT support.
- Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts and become an IT business advocate.
- Provide operations support including backup, account management, workflow, log analysis, troubleshooting and service optimization.
- Actively participate as a global IT member in global projects when needed.
- Become a champion of implementing global IT standards and participate in the feedback process for continuous improvement.
- Manage local and regional IT vendor relationships.
- Manage local server rooms.
