JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a skilled IT Specialist, Senior I, to provide subject matter expertise in IT support for our organization. The ideal candidate will develop business cases, perform knowledge management and information assurance, and deliver expert analysis and evaluation of information technology matters.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • In-depth knowledge of IT support, systems management, and project management.
  • Relevant IT certifications that demonstrate expertise in the field.
  • Experience with electronic business operation tools, website design, database development, and systems integration.
  • Strong familiarity with IT policy development and implementation, including the ability to conduct audits of IT programs.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the capacity to assess complex IT matters and provide actionable recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or a related field; or additional 4 years of IT experience at APG NEC or PEO/PM organizations in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of IT support experience.
  • Must possess a valid Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop business cases and conduct knowledge management and information assurance across the organization or major components thereof.
  • Provide expert analysis, recommendations, and initiation of IT projects.
  • Lead projects that encompass the full scope of information systems management for the Command.
  • Perform various information technology tasks by reviewing, analyzing, and validating electronic business operation tools; implementing IT resources (hardware/software), and contributing to website design, database development, and other business systems integration initiatives.
  • Interface with higher headquarters, other Command sites, and business centers to facilitate the implementation of procurement information systems technology.
  • Assess and implement IT policy to govern IT activities, providing policy guidance to management, staff, and customers.
  • Define current and future business environments; conduct audits of IT programs and policies; and recommend enhancements to improve the efficiency of IT systems through the application of emergent technologies.
  • Rigorously apply information technology policies, principles, and practices to deliver IT technical services throughout the Command.
  • Serve as the Lead Information Management Officer and Telephone Control Officer, representing the organization’s interests to service providers.
  • Lead projects focused on knowledge management and business process design tasks.
