Description:
Cowan Insurance is seeking a highly motivated IT Support Technician - Tier 1, on an 18-month contract basis, to join our successful and dynamic team. We are looking for a passionate, results-driven individual with attention to detail who takes pride in a job well done. In this role you will be resolving issues related to user hardware, software, and security remotely and on-site to all the internal departments and staff. You will communicate directly with end users to learn specific details on the issue they are experiencing, working through various troubleshooting techniques to resolve.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in set-up of IT equipment and computer web meetings for company meetings, events, and lunch & learn presentations
- Ability to ensure proper recording, documentation and closure of technical issues utilizing our ticket software system – ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus
- Guide clients through a step-by-step process via phone, email, or chat until they successfully resolve a technical issue
- Analytic behaviours to determine cause, resolution and potential trends in support issues raised
- Demonstrate ability to collaborate with vendors and colleagues to carry out daily operational tasks
- Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal team members
- Support the IT department with various projects and tasks
