For permanent employment OHB Digital Connect GmbH in Luxembourg is looking for a
IT System Administrator (m/f/d)
OHB-DC as part of the LUXEOPs consortium is searching for a motivated and skilled IT Systems Administrator. LUXEOps is in charge of the preparation and operation of the Luxemburgish satellite program LUXEOSys. You will be part of the IT/ILS-Team (Information Technology and Integrated Logistics Support) within the LUXEOps consortium with the overall task of maintaining the entirety of the satellite ground segment and the office IT environment of the consortium. The position is based in Kirchberg, Luxemburg City.
Your Tasks

Your tasks during the ramp up phase (not limited to):

  • Active participation during the installation, configuration and acceptance of the project IT environment
  • Active development and participation to the project related training courses for satellite ground segments
  • Active participation to the commissioning phase of the ground segment network
  • Creation of purchase orders and stock management for IT components
  • Development of project related documentation such as procedures, plans and policies
  • Trouble shooting in all areas of the ground segment

Your tasks during operations (not limited to):

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of the ground segment hardware and software
  • Monitoring of system status and health
  • Network- and Security administration
  • Network Performance and Trend Analysis
  • Logistics and stock management, including information exchanges with contractors and subcontractors to secure a seamless spare part supply
  • Resolving user requests via ticketing tool and other means
  • Management of internal upgrade projects
  • Related similar activities
  • Availability for work in shifts

Your Qualifications

  • High motivated newcomers in the space industry are also welcome
  • Open minded for new challenges in the IT world due to special challenges in the space sector
  • Completed degree in the IT Sector with sound professional experience or comparable qualification
  • Confident handling of Microsoft and/or Linux operating systems
  • Documentation skills
  • Specialized knowledge in satellite ground segments, networking, virtualization, shell scripting, ElasticStack or M365 cloud services is an advantage
  • Experience in project work
  • Knowledge of ITIL is an advantage
  • High level of quality awareness and problem-solving skills
  • Team spirit, sense of responsibility and humor
