Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the set up, maintenance, configurations, and reliable operations of user computer systems, company used networks, and virtual servers hosted or other (AWS, Azure)

• Ensuring the secure operations of all the Solutions Metrix technology stack, monitoring, securing, improving, patching and updates of all needed and used software and virtual resources to insure the safe and smooth operation of Solutions Metrix technology assets.

• Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.

• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
• Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.

Document all changes to any infrastructure or technical services that have been changed, use Confluence to keep all created documents and to update existing company documentation.

• Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.

Monitor and ensure that all regular backup operations are implemented and implement new backup procedures as needed for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover.

• Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
• Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance, backup and security.
• Responsible for onboarding/offboarding of employees with regards to IT tasks and assisting in acquisition of new needed hardware for new employees.

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 3-5 years of system and network administration, knowledge of database management and administration is a plus
• System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus.
• Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent, (AWS, Azure experience is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of network routing and security policies and protocols.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools.
• A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans able to develop own process and implement them.
• Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
