BACKGROUND
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic IT System Engineer with a focus on Linux and VMware to support our team in Lissabon. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Linux servers and VMware infrastructures to ensure their performance, availability, and security. You will handle advanced ticketing (2nd/3rd level), automate infrastructure processes, and contribute to IT projects by providing your infrastructure expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Manage 2nd and 3rd level support issues within the IT operations team
- Manage, improve, and troubleshoot Linux servers to guarantee optimal performance, reliability, and security
- Administer and optimize VMware ESX, vSphere, and Horizon systems to maintain high levels of efficiency, uptime, and protection
- Assist team members with infrastructure-related inquiries and problem-solving
- Contribute to IT initiatives by providing knowledge in areas such as infrastructure management, virtualization, and process automation
- Streamline repetitive service tasks and infrastructure lifecycle processes through automation
- Continuously monitor and resolve emerging issues within virtualization and Linux server environments
- Create and maintain documentation of technical workflows and configurations to facilitate knowledge exchange
