POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: IT Systems Analyst
Department: Business Information & Technology Systems
Reports to: Software Development Director (SDD)
Position(s) Supervised: N/A
FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and configuring programs, systems, and services. The position assists WEDC employees, partners, and customers in using WEDC technology solutions. The position helps to lead cross-functional teams to understand business processes and data sources to incorporate into project design and system architecture.
This position supports WEDC’s Salesforce.com infrastructure through standard changes (new user creation, record assignments, user inactivation), declarative changes (page layout updates, flow, and process builder design), and programmatic changes (Visualforce development, Apex, JavaScript, Aura & LWC).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree in information systems, Information Technology, or related field or combination of equivalent experience/education.
  • Minimum of two years of information technology experience.

SKILLS AND TALENTS:

  • Ability to communicate with clients, business users, and technology advocates.
  • Ability to analyze and document complex business processes.
  • Experience with work-flow based engine rule softwares.
  • Experience with SharePoint and Salesforce.com.
  • Apex and JavaScript experience preferred
  • Understanding of information technology policy and program planning techniques and procedures.
  • Strong project management skills with agile methodology.
  • Ability to implement efficiency/cost-saving methodologies and procedures.
  • Problem-solving skills, sound reasoning, independent judgment, and initiative to accomplish tasks with little direction and to solve issues/accomplish tasks not requiring the involvement of others.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires the employee to provide a mobile device that allows for phone, text, and email access.
  • Based on the responsibilities of this position, this position may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Responsibilities:

The IT Systems Analyst will spend the majority of their time in these activities:

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software solutions across multiple platforms.
  • Create and maintain web applications using VS Code and GitHub to version file updates.
  • Design and develop guided workflow processes to enhance WEDC’s online client portal, Network Wisconsin.
  • Maintain security such as user accounts, mobile user accounts, sharing rules, user roles, user profiles, field level security, content folder rights, groups, list view rights, and custom apex pages and classes, etc.
  • Maintain and create custom objects, workflow rules, validation rules, formula fields, escalation rules, auto-assignment rules, etc.
  • Document IT standards, configurations, and procedures as required.
  • Contact and work with vendors and external developers courteously to resolve issues and problems as they occur.
  • Participate in an agile project team to deliver iterative value to the business and public.
  • Respond to internal and external incident submissions for errors and questions.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and standards to ensure system reliability and accessibility.
  • Research, test, and recommend new, emerging, and/or upgraded software. Understand and resolve integration issues.
  • Instruct and train staff and partners through the use of formal and ad hoc sessions in methods and procedures to be used in the operation of the corporation’s IT systems.
  • Identify potential and ongoing IT software problems and present recommendations to resolve them.
  • Provide regular and periodic reports on the status of projects, tasks, and activities.
  • Maintain a professional development program through appropriate training courses, selected reading, user groups, professional groups, conferences, and seminars.
  • Other duties as assigned.
