Description:

MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • TIA Security+ certifications required.
  • AA or BS Degree in Information Assurance, Cyber Security, Incident Response, Security Management, or discipline directly related to Cyber Security or eight (8) years specialized experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience and expertise related to security and risk management for communication and IT resources.
  • High school diploma or equivalent training & experience.
  • Ability to read and write English is required.
  • Candidate must a USN to fill the position.
  • Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
  • Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Provide technical services required to maintain, operate, and support unclassified and classified and standalone/closed communication systems. The Cyberspace Defense Analyst / Cybersecurity Liaison will ensure compliance with the applicable Cyberspace Defense Analysis (CDA) requirements in accordance with (IAW) Air Force Instruction 10-701. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with the applicable Cyberspace Defense Analysis (CDA) requirements IAW AFI 10-701, Electronic Systems Security Assessment and CDA Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with AFI 10-701, Electronic Systems Security Assessment and CDA Operations. All telecommunications systems, to include telephones, cellular phones, radios, facsimile machines, pagers, computer networks and other wired or wireless electronic devices shall be affixed with a notice and consent to monitoring banner IAW AFI 10-701 and any local supplements.
  • Conduct annual information technology security reviews IAW the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 (FISMA) and Title III of the Electronic Government (e-Gov) Act of 2002.
  • Conduct tests on contingency plans and security controls.
  • Document a plan of action and set milestones for all system level weaknesses.
  • Assess and authorize all information systems IAW Department of Defense Instruction 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Submit an RMF package to obtain Approval to Operate (ATO) and Approval to Connect from the Authorizing Official (AO) before connecting any Information Systems to US Air Force Networks, utilizing the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (EMASS) system.
  • Ensure personnel performing Cybersecurity or IA functions have proper certifications and provide documentation to the Government upon request.
  • Ensure all employees utilize Government standard desktop configuration and approved software in the development, maintenance, and operations of the unclassified and classified networks.
  • Ensure all additions and upgrades to software beyond what is included in the Government provided SDC have a current certification memo and be presented to the Wing Cybersecurity Office for evaluation and approval before the software is added.
  • Determine and document if anomalies that occur during the update process are caused by the update itself or are unrelated.
  • Analyze unique configurations of user systems affected by updates to determine impacts prior to implementation.
  • Install, operate, and maintain network operating systems and services (software patching, server virtualization, file storage, web, and print to authorized users), and provide anomaly resolution and restoral as required.
  • Implement updates network while de-conflicting updates with on-going user operations and minimizing risk of disrupting service and notify site leadership of any implementation delays or issues.
  • Report any actions which result in unauthorized system access, denial of service, loss of data, loss of system or data integrity, or disclosure of sensitive information immediately upon discovery IAW Air Force Instruction 17-130.
  • Report all security incidents immediately upon discovery in writing and verbally (via approved classified Communication platform).

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
