Description:
ABOUT THIS JOB
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive IT Technical Project Manager to successfully deliver complex IT and technology-focused projects across the Council. This role will play a critical part in allowing the Council to deliver on its IT priorities and ambitions, including the vision to be better able to support communities to become ever more powerful, connected, and resilient.
Responsible for leading multiple concurrent technical projects each with budgets up to 500k. Responsible for managing a portfolio of projects in line with agreed project management standards and methodologies across the Council. Responsible for developing business cases, solution proposals and managing the delivery of specific projects, which support the strategic objectives of the Council by leading cross-functional teams to deliver agreed outputs, outcomes and benefits. Supporting Senior Project Managers and Juniors to scope and deliver projects. As a member of the IT Project Management Office, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the business objectives that contribute to the achievement of the Council’s priorities and the corporate objectives.

Our ideal candidates will have experience in managing and successfully delivering fast-paced, customer focused, structured and insight-led IT projects, ideally within a local authority setting.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience of managing and successfully delivering IT technical projects in a local authority setting, working to time, budget and quality constraints.
• Knowledge of appropriate project management methodologies, techniques and tools. • Ability to build strong working relationships and to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to advise, influence and negotiate when necessary.
- Strong at reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Creative and innovative in finding solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to respond creatively and proactively to unpredictable and conflicting volumes of work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a sound knowledge of standard and non-standard report writing.
